Several advisories were issued throughout the day, including a flash flood warning as waters began to rise near the Hanalei Bridge. However, flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat.

The Kaua‘i County Public Works Solid Waste Division is hosting household hazardous waste collection events from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Anaina Hou Community Park behind the mini-golf course at 5-2723 Kūhiō Highway and the Kaua‘i Resource Center at 3460 Ahukini Road in front of the Līhu‘e refuse transfer station.

People are advised to stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts. Be prepared for road closures. Postpone entering or leaving channels affected by the high surf until the surf subsides.
Body thought to be that of Kaua‘i murder suspect Kody Gardner found in Kōkeʻe
The Kaua‘i Police Department reports that a dead body thought to be that of 22-year-old Kody Gardner, the suspect of an alleged Feb. 16 murder in Lāwa‘i, was observed by officials Thursday, Feb. 23, in Kōkeʻe. Foul play is not suspected, as preliminary findings suggest Gardner fell from height.
