County to host additional household hazardous waste collection events Sunday

If you didn’t get a chance Saturday in Hanapēpē and Kapa‘a to bring in your household hazardous waste, there are events scheduled Sunday in different locations.

The Kaua‘i County Public Works Solid Waste Division is hosting collection events from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Anaina Hou Community Park behind the mini-golf course at 5-2723 Kūhiō Highway and the Kaua‘i Resource Center at 3460 Ahukini Road in front of the Līhu‘e refuse transfer station.

Do not bring refuse or electronic waste to the household hazardous waste events, they will not be accepted. The collection events are for residential material drop off only.

As a reminder, refuse transfer stations and the Kekaha Landfill will be closed Sunday in observance of Prince Kūhiō Day. Transfer stations and the landfill will resume service Monday.
