Ilima Shim, who grew up in Hōnaunau on the Big Island’s west side, recently was one of 12 competitors on the CBS reality TV show “Tough as Nails.”

The show celebrates men and women who roll up their sleeves everyday and work long, hard hours to keep the nation running.
