Kaua‘i County’s Ocean Safety Bureau is advising no swimming or other ocean activities at Hanalei Bay due to heavy runoff and brown water.

A brown water advisory was issued by the Hawai‘i Department of Health for Wai‘oli Beach, located in the middle of the bay, on July 7. While the advisory was canceled on Wednesday, the Kaua‘i County ocean safety officers have posted warning signs and are monitoring the area.

For up-to-date information about Kaua‘i ocean conditions and ocean safety, speak to a county lifeguard at any lifeguard station, visit safebeachday.com/county/kauai/, or call the Ocean Safety Bureau at 808-241-4984.
