It was the second fire to be extinguished Saturday in roughly the same area.
Firefighters responded early Saturday morning to an about 50-by-50-foot brush fire in the Hanamāʻulu Beach Park area near the old Hanamāʻulu Bridge, below Kapule Highway.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened in that blaze either. It also caused Kapule Highway to be closed while firefighters responded.
