Permit seekers may have to wait longer than usual.
The Department of Parks and Recreation said on Friday that the public may experience customer service delays with the permit section at the Līhu‘e Civic Center in Suite 150 from Oct. 6-10, due to office and workstation renovations.
Delayed services include phone and in-person assistance, as well as processing Group A pavilions, special event, and community event permits.

Permitting for Sports/Leagues and Neighborhood Centers will not be impacted.
The public is encouraged to utilize the online permit portal by visiting www.kauai.gov/parks.
