Update: Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau north, west shores now under high surf advisory

National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu report that the current large west-northwest to northwest swell did not get as large as expected. Advisory in place through Thursday morning.

High surf advisory through Wednesday for north, west shores of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau

Large northwest swell building tonight and forecast to peak early Wednesday is expected to bring strong breaking waves of 15 to 20 feet to northern shorelines of both islands and 8 to 12 feet along western shorelines.
