Kauaʻi drinks up in April with overwhelmingly above average rainfall totals

Only a few places along the island’s southern coast were the exceptions, according to the most recent rainfall summary from the National Weather Service in Honolulu, but they were still between 60% and 90% of their normal monthly averages.

Kaua‘i streams flowing at record low levels

Less water means less availability for drinking water supplies, for traditional and customary practices and for agriculture. Recent rainfall helped the situation, but drought conditions are expected to persist.
