#multi-hazard mitigation and resilience plan

County staff — along with community organizations and state colleagues — are reviewing and updating the plan’s elements, including impacts of natural hazards affecting the Garden Isle, capability to mitigate those risks and strategy for reducing vulnerabilities and increasing resiliency to natural disasters.

Federal Emergency Management Agency requires plans to be scrutinized at least every 5 years for communitieis to remain eligible for a range of the agency’s programs.

The planning process for the updated plan will include a community open house and a feedback survey anticipated for late summer with final plan approval anticipated for the spring of 2026.
