Charting an easier path: State Land Survey Division continues work digitizing maps

Agency within Hawaiʻi Department of Accounting and General Services is still in the process of getting about 90,000 maps, some that go back to 1871, online so people can find them at their convenience for practical needs and to satisfy curiosity.

Eternal flame temporarily snuffed out by rare gas line blockage

Efforts to restore the flame Friday were unsuccessful. The next step is to clear the line or replace the plugged section of piping. More will be known about the situation and a possible solution by early this week.
