AARP offers FREE  Tax assistance on Friday 3/28 and Saturday 3/29 starting at 9am. Visit them in the suite next door to Sone’s at the Food Court.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. You don’t need to be an AARP member to use the service. 

Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service. Every year, from early February to mid-April, our volunteers take appointments at over 3,600 locations around the country, including here on Kauai. Since 1968, Tax-Aide has helped over 80 million taxpayers receive all the credits and deductions they’re entitled to. Last year, nearly 28,000 Tax-Aide volunteers helped secure almost $1.3 billion in total refunds for more than 1.7 million people.

Volunteers are IRS-certified every year, so they understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code. You can choose to have an IRS-certified volunteer prepare your taxes or provide coaching so you can prepare them yourself.
