Aloha. This is Andy Boyd, the Recycling Programs Coordinator with the County of Kauaʻi. I am hoping you will take advantage of the County’s upcoming Household Hazardous Waste collection events being held this September at no cost. Acceptable items include: pesticides, solvents, car products, oil based paints, and more. Event dates and locations are as follows:

On Saturday, September 21st, events will take place:

• Hanapēpē next to the Refuse Transfer Station

• Kapa‘a past the ballpark across from the Kaua‘i Recycles drop bins.

On Sunday, September 22th, events will take place:

• Kīlauea behind the Anaina Hou Mini Golf Course

• Līhu‘e at the Kaua‘i Resource Center fronting the Līhu‘e Transfer Station.

Events are from 8 am to 3 pm. Please note that latex paint is not toxic and will not be accepted. This program is for residents only. Businesses, farms, and non-profits must contact a hazardous waste hauler. More information is available by calling 808-241-4841, or on the County’s website at kauai.gov/HHW
