When Families Are Fed, Futures Are Nourished
Hawai‘i Foodbank has been working to nourish our ‘ohana for over 40 years now. But what exactly does that mean? Nourishing our ‘ohana isn’t just about filling plates. When you feed someone, you’re also sharing aloha, extending dignity and providing hope for a better tomorrow. And that better tomorrow starts with increasing access to safe and nutritious food today. Health and hunger are deeply connected, and Hawai‘i Foodbank is committed to beingthe healthy option for those experiencing hunger. More than one quarter of the food Hawai‘i Foodbank distributes is fresh, healthyproduce — and you can help us provide even more. Join Hawai‘i Foodbank by making a donation to this year’s Food Drive Day campaign, and your support will go directly towards the purchase of nutritious fruits and vegetables for local families, keiki and kūpuna.
When we nourish our ‘ohana today, we can end hunger tomorrow.
What is Food Drive Day?
Food Drive Day is Hawai‘i Foodbank’s largest and most highly-anticipated community engagement event. Food Drive Day raises awareness about hunger in Hawai‘i and rallies support around Hawai‘i Foodbank’s mission to nourish our ‘ohana today and end hunger tomorrow. Businesses, organizations, groups and individuals are invited to host their own food and fund drives leading up to Food Drive Day on Saturday, Aug. 24.
How It Works
Hawai‘i Foodbank’s annual Food Drive Day takes place Saturday, Aug. 24. On this special day, Hawai‘i Foodbank will gather with hundreds of volunteers at collection sites throughout the state — collecting food and monetary donations from the community.
In the weeks leading up to Food Drive Day — businesses, organizations, groups and individuals are invited to make a donation online or host their own food and fund drives in support of Hawai‘i Foodbank. Then, on Saturday, Aug. 24, they are invited to drop off their food and monetary donations at their nearest collection site.
