Kaua'i BIG (Brain Injury Group) gathers monthly to connect survivors & supporters of aquired brain injury. Common causes of brain injury includes; stroke, head trauma, concussion, and circumstances that create a decrease in blood flow/oxygen to the brain (anoxia).
Our aim is to learn from each other and support brain health and recovery.
Our 2 hour meetings feature guest speakers, interactive activities and opportunites to share experiences in a welcoming, non-judgemental, supportive environment. We explore topics ranging from recovery after injury, activating the parasympathetic nervous system (the 'rest & digest' system within our brain & body), everyday brain wellness, along with nutrition & simple breath-work practice.
Whether you are seeking resources, inspiration, or community, you are welcome here.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about how we can empower ourselves & others through advocacy, access and awareness.
