Honoring our past, Shaping our Future is a first-ever Filipino American History Month celebration on Kauai and is scheduled as a two-day event on October 18 and 19, 2024 at the Kauai Philippine Cultural Center (KPCC). We humbly ask for your support of this celebration by purchasing tickets to attend one or both days!

Filipino American History Month in October was officially recognized in Hawaii in 2008 and is celebrated through the state to recognize and commemorate the contributions of Filipino Americans to the State of Hawaii. Kauai Philippine Cultural Center has initiated a grassroots effort in coordinating a 2-day series of activities, exhibits, and demonstrations that commemorate our Filipino heritage, with emphasis towards sharing Filipino traditions that our forefathers grew up enjoying. This celebration is an opportunity for the younger generations, children of Sakadas and their extended families, as well as Kauai's community, to experience and learn about Filipino customs, which vary amongst the different regions and provinces, as well as individual family practices.
