Come to our free screening of Reel Link Films' "Counted Out"!
First released in 2024, "Counted Out" explores the many ways in which the levers of power and change in modern society are connected through math, and argues that numeracy and math education are necessary tools for participation in modern democracy.
In addition to the screening, we will have a panel of math educators to discuss the social issues of our community and country with respect to math education and take questions from the community. We will also have the Kauai Food Bank food truck and other community partners on-site, and will have a lucky drawing before and after the film! Just showing up for the film gets you a lucky drawing ticket, but every can of food donated for the Kauai Food Bank is worth an additional lucky drawing ticket.
Doors open at 5:00 pm, and community services and partners will be available until the screening starts at 6:00 pm. After the screening ends, we will have the panel discussion and Q&A. Refreshments will be provided for all attendees.
You can RSVP at the link provided in the QR code, as well as in the link provided as the event website.
Hope to see you there!
