The Live Poets’ Society’s (LPS) first publication– KAUA`I IN HAIKU –will be celebrated on Mon., Nov. 18, 5:30 – 7 PM, in the Lihu`e Library Conference Room. The public is invited to the introduction of the fine anthology penned by members of the LPS, a tribute to the island that is our home and a favorite destination for world travelers. Between the aquamarine covers featuring a swimming honu and a pu, conch shell, lies a feast of haiku capturing the essence of Kaua`i Island. A year in the planning, writing and editing, and design, this collection comes in time for gift giving. Young and old, residents and visitors will enjoy meeting the LPS poets, hearing the story behind the book and excerpts, and joining in the celebration, “HAIKU ‘HAI’ TEA”, complete with appropriate Hawaii-style refreshments and book-signing on request.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
