Kaiser nurses to return to work Tuesday after four-week strike, bargaining continues

After four weeks on strike, nurses and health care professionals represented by the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP)  will return to work Tuesday across Kaiser Permanente facilities in California and Hawai’i. The work stoppage was the largest open-ended strike of registered nurses and health care professionals in United States history, according to the union.  

Hawaiʻi DOH reports second confirmed travel-related-dengue virus case of 2026

The Hawai‘i Department of Health has identified a new travel-related dengue virus case on Oʻahu, bringing the total number of dengue cases in the state for 2026 to two. Gov. Green appoints Daniel Gluck to Intermediate Court of Appeals

Gov. Josh Green today announced the appointment of Daniel Gluck as an Associate Judge for the Intermediate Court of Appeals. Gluck fills the vacancy due to the elevation of the former Associate Judge Karen T. Nakasone to the position of Chief Judge of the Intermediate Court of Appeals in July 2025.
