Additional changes made to Young Brothers shipping, cargo acceptance because of Tropical Storm Lala

The forecast track for Tropical Storm Lala is expected to bring storm surge and severe weather conditions to the Hawaiian Islands, some of which could begin as early as later today.

Shipping firm Young Brothers expects delays and disruptions to its schedule, so accordingly, the firm further adjusted its acceptance and availability.

It also will continue working closely with U.S. Coast Guard throughout the weekend to monitor the storm.

Sailing schedule and cargo acceptance updates

Today (Aug. 14): Nāwiliwili, Kaua‘i, and Kahului, Maui, sailing to Honolulu

• These 2 ports will not accept refrigerated cargo, hazardous material or livestock.

Saturday (Aug. 15): All ports

• ALL PORTS CLOSED

“We will continue [to] provide updates on operations at each port as we respond to the directives issues by the U.S. Coast Guard,” said Young Brothers today in a lunchtime update.

The shipping firm will continue to provide information as it becomes available, including changes to statewide operations, which will be sent by email, posted on the Young Brothers website and shared via its social media channels.
