Lane closures scheduled through Aug. 14 on several roadways around Kaua‘i

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures planned for weekdays — unless otherwise noted — through Aug. 14 on several roadways around Kaua‘i.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO KŌLOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.4 and 6.6 in the vicinity of Haul Cane Road near the Kaua‘i Humane Society and Maluhia Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 9-14 for installing rumble strips and pavement striping.

KŌLOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 5.9 and 6.7 in the vicinity of Maluhia Road, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for barrier installation, removal of existing grass median and reconstruction.
• LANE SHIFT in the westbound direction, between mile posts 6.4 and 6.7 in the vicinity of Maluhia Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for emergency tree trimming.

ʻŌMAʻO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 8.7 and 9 in the vicinity of Pīwai Reservoir and ‘Ūpā Road, on Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for waterline installation.

ʻŌMAʻO TO LĀWAʻI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 9 and 9.6 in the vicinity of ‘Ūpā Road and Piko Road, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for reconstruction of weakened pavement..

LĀWAʻI

• LANE SHIFT in the westbound direction, between mile posts 10.3 and 10.4 in the vicinity of Kōloa Road and Wawae Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance and tree trimming.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile post 0.8, in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Kapule Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for concrete sidewalk and drainage installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

WAILUĀ

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 5.5 and 5.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā Marina Road and Kuamoʻo Road, Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving and reconstruction.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 6.6 and 7.1 in the vicinity of Papaloa Road and Aleka Loop, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11-13 for landscape maintenance.

ANAHOLA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 13.5 and 14 in the vicinity of Keālia Road and ʻAliomanu Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

ANAHOLA TO MOLOAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 15 and 17 in the vicinity of ʻAliomanu Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.9 and 2.3 in the vicinity of Pāpio Place and Hanalei Bridge,from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 9-14 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LUMAHAʻI

• RIGHT SHOULDER CLOSURE in the northbound direction near mile post 5.7, in the vicinity of Lumahaʻi Beach, from 1 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 8 for repairing the shoulder near Lumahaʻi Beach area. Shoulder will be closed for parking during repair.

HĀʻENA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.7 and 9.5 in the vicinity of Hāʻena Beach Park and Limahulu Garden, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree trimming near high voltage lines. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction near mile post 2, in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street and Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sidewalk and roadway restoration.

HIGHWAY 540

NIUMILA TO ‘ELE‘ELE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.1 to 3.6 in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and A Illuna Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and pavement marking. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 8, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for BMP installation and shoulder widening. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway to Olohena Road from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement marking and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE near mile post 2.5, between Kūhiō Highway and Olohena Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 7-8 for emergency guardrail repair.
