The Hawaiʻi Department of Health has lifted the Brown Water advisories for Hanalei Bay and Waiʻoli Beach on Kauaʻi after recent rainfall.
The advisory for Hanalei Bay, issued July 22, was lifted after water quality conditions improved. A separate advisory for Waioli Beach, issued July 21, also has been canceled.
Although both advisories have ended, health officials continue to caution residents and visitors against entering brown or murky coastal waters, particularly after heavy rain or storms. Runoff can carry bacteria, chemicals, debris and other contaminants into the ocean, increasing the risk of illness and injury.
