The basketball and pickleball court at Kalena Park will be closed on Wednesday while county crews plant new trees along the park’s Rice Street rock wall, according to the Kauaʻi Department of Parks and Recreation.

The temporary closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parks maintenance crews will install new trees and palm trees as part of landscaping improvements along the rock wall bordering Rice Street. All other areas of Kalena Park will remain open and available for public use during the work.

All work is dependent on the weather.

Residents with further questions can contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 808-241-4460 or by email at parks@kauai.gov.
