Lane closures scheduled through July 24 on several roadways around Kaua‘i

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures planned for weekdays — unless otherwise noted — through July 24 on several roadways around Kaua‘i.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO KŌLOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 3.4 and 6.6 in the vicinity of Haul Cane Road near Kaua‘i Humane Society and Maluhia Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 19-24 for installing rumble strips and pavement striping.

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 13 and 15 in the vicinity of Puahau Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, near milepost 0.8 in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Kapule Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for installation of pavement striping, markers and drainage. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

KAPAʻA TO KEĀLIA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 8.1 and 9.6 in the vicinity of ʻŌhiʻa Street and Māʻilihunā Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for signage and paving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KEĀLIA TO ANAHOLA

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 10 and 13.5 in the vicinity of Cane Haul Road and Keālia Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. July 23 for herbicide application.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 1.2 and 2.3, in the vicinity of ʻŌhiki Road and Pāpio Place, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 1.9 and 2.6, in the vicinity of Aku Road and Hanalei Bridge, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 19-24 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAINIHA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 6.7 and 7.4, in the vicinity of Powerhouse Road and Oneone Place, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance around utilities. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction near milepost 2, in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street and Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sidewalk restoration. Detour to Halekō Road.

HIGHWAY 540

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 0.0 and 3.8 in the vicinity of Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and pavement marking. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • FULL CLOSURE, between mileposts 0.4 and 6.7 in the vicinity of Maʻule Road and Kōkeʻe Road, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for full depth reconstruction and resurfacing. Use Kōkeʻe Road in Kekaha to get to Kōkeʻe State Park.

HIGHWAY 583

KAPA‘IA

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mileposts 3.3 and 3.9, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. July 21 for herbicide application.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mileposts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa), from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement marking and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
