Special community meeting to feature candidate for Hawai‘i lieutenant governor Kaua‘i County Mayor Kawakami

The Indivisible Kaua‘i hybrid meeting, which can be attended in-person or online via Zoom, also includes Deirdre Romney, who will present information about understanding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agreements, what they are and why communities are reconsidering them.

Indivisible Kaua‘i invites all island residents to a special community meeting this weekend with Kaua‘i County mayor and Democratic candidate for Hawai‘i lieutenant governor Derek Kawakami as well as Deirdre Romney.

The hybrid meeting is scheduled for 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 18. It is extended because of the planned special presentations.

Community members can attend in-person at Hale Lihue, located at 4344 Rice St., in Līhuʻe or online via Zoom using Meeting ID 889 9373 0122 and Passcode 462412.

Special guest Kawakami will provide updates about Kaua‘i County work and more, plus participate in a community question-and-answer session following his comments.

Romney’s featured presentation will focus on understanding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agreements. She will explain what these agreements are, why communities are reconsidering them and what it could mean for Hawai‘i.

There also will be a question-and-answer session following Romney’s presentation.
