High bacteria levels found at Waiʻoli Beach Park

The Department of Health is retesting the water at Waiʻoli Beach Park in Kauaʻi after an initial sample detected high levels of bacteria during routine beach monitoring.

The department is uncertain about the representativeness of the initial sample since the beach has historically met the beach threshold level, and there is no known source of fecal contamination.
