16 lane closures scheduled through June 5 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 16 scheduled lane closures and road work projects through June 5, unless otherwise noted, on Kaua‘i state roadways.

HIGHWAY 50

PUHI TO KŌLOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.7 and 5.3 in the vicinity of Puhi Road and Kāhili Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting the grass.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday, May 31-June 5, for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

ʻŌMAʻO TO LĀWAʻI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9 and 9.6 in the vicinity of ‘Ūpā Road and Piko Road, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for reconstruction of pavement.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile post 0.8, in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Kapule Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for installing pavement striping and markers on the roadway. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

  • CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Poinciana Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.

HANAMĀʻULU TO WAILUĀ

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 2.6 and 6 in the vicinity of Kapule Highway and Kuamoʻo Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2-3, for spraying along guardrails, signs and mile marker poles..

ANAHOLA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12 and 14 in the vicinity of ʻAliomanu Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through Thursday, June 4, for landscape maintenance.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.2 and 28 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Sunday through Friday, May 31-June 5, for striping.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 2.8 and 3.3 in the vicinity of Mālolo Road and ʻAnae Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday, May 31-June 5, for paving work. Traffic will be detoured to Weke Road via Mālolo Road.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8 from Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for permanent striping, planting and placing anchored mesh.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction, between mile posts 1.9 and 2.0 in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street and Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sewer line installation. Right turn pocket heading eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway will be closed and the shoulder eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway after the turn pocket will be closed. Traffic to detour to Haleko Road.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1 and 2 in the vicinity of Maʻule Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. cutting the grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement markers and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 580

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 2 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Kahawai Place, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, for herbicide application along guardrails, signs and mile marker posts.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday, May 31-June 5, for applying sealant and pavement marking and striping.
