
No injuries were reported following a structure fire on Monday afternoon in Kapa‘a.
Kaua‘i Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze on Kahuna Road shortly after 1:20 p.m. When crews arrived on scene, they discovered a single-story home fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters initially focused on cooling a propane tank before extinguishing the remainder of the fire, according to a news release from Kaua‘i County.
Firefighters cleared the scene shortly before 8:20 p.m., and damages to the structure and contents are estimated at $321,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. KFD Fire Prevention Bureau investigators took over the scene and conducted an investigation.
Personnel with the Kapaʻa, Kaiakea, and Līhuʻe fire stations, Rescue 3, the Fire Prevention Bureau, the on-duty Battalion Chief, Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative, and the Kauaʻi Police Department responded to the incident.
