A new weekly farmers market focused on local food, small businesses and community connection is set to launch June 1 at Anahola Marketplace on Kauaʻi’s North Shore.
Kate Vredevoogd and Kamanalani Geddes announced the farmers market will operate every Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. It will feature local farmers, food trucks, artisans, wellness practitioners and other vendors.
Vredevoogd and Geddes told Kauaʻi Now the “goal is to create a space where residents can support small businesses and entrepreneurs while strengthening food sovereignty and community ties.
“We are proud to highlight local farmers, painters, culinary specialists, jewelry makers, herbal remedies, teas, spices and more.”
Confirmed vendors include Source Farms, Oak & Oar, Thyme Culinary Market, By the Sea Organics, Colibri Alchemy, Reca Art and Island Woodworking.
The marketplace also has included infrastructure to support up to 10 permanent food trucks. Participating food truck vendors during the June 1 launch will include: Paradise Pancakes, Mandala Foods, Chicken in a Barrel Express, Smoke Signalz Grill, Ethiopian Clean Food Service and Aloha Matcha, which will offer stone-milled matcha sourced from Kyoto.

In addition to fresh produce and prepared food, the market plans to offer handmade goods, local art and family-friendly activities such as face painting and chair massages.
Visitors also will be able to explore existing on-site shops and retailers at the marketplace.
The organizers added that vendor applications are still being accepted, and a waitlist will be created as the marketplace expands.
The marketplace site includes parking designed to accommodate large events. Residents and vendors can find more information by clicking here.
