19 lane closures scheduled during week of May 10-15 on Kauaʻi state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 19 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of May 10 to May 15.

HIGHWAY 50

 LĪHUʻE TO KOLOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile post 4.2 to 5.3 in the vicinity of Puʻuana Road and Kahili Road, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting the grass.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, on Sunday, May 10 to Friday, May 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, near mile post 0.8 in the vicinity of Lala Road and Kapule HIghjway, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for applying sealant on the roadway. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LĪHU‘E

• CENTER LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 0.1 to 0.3, in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Ahukini Road nightly on Sunday, May 10 to Friday, May 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.

KAPAʻA (NIGHT WORK)

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 9 to 9.8, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road and Mailihuna Road, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for guardrail installation.

KEĀLIA TO ANAHOLA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 11 to 14, in the vicinity of Aliomanu Road, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting the grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (NIGHT/DAY WORK)

• LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Sunday, May 10 to Friday, May 15 from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for striping.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 24 to 28, in the vicinity of Kalihiwai Road to Ka Haku Road, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road to ʻŌhiki Road, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for repairing the rockfall barrier.

HANALEI (NIGHT/DAY WORK)

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile post 2.8 to 3.3, in the vicinity of Malolo Road and ʻAnae Road, on Sunday, May 10 to Friday, May 15  from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work. Traffic will be detoured to Weke Road via Malolo Road.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile post 2.8 to 3.3, in the vicinity of Malolo Road and ʻAnae Road, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 4.6 to 4.8, between Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for paving.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE (NIGHT WORK)

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction, between mile post 1.9 to 2.0 in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street and Kaumualii Highway on, Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sewer line installation. Right turn pocket heading eastbound on Kaumualii Highway will be closed and the shoulder eastbound on Kaumualii Highway after the turn pocket will be closed. Traffic to detour to Haleko Road.

HIGHWAY 540

KŌKEʻE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 2.1 to 3.8, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and Kaumualii Highway on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting the grass.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 0.1 to 3.2, in the vicinity of Huakai Road on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement marker and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 4.6 to 11.5 on Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 583

KAPAIA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE between mile post 0.0 to 2.8, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway, on Wednesday, May 13 to Friday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for road boring.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE between mile post 3 to 3.9, on Tuesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 14 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting the grass.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 0.8 to 3, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa) on Saturday, May 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.m for applying sealant.
