The Battleship Missouri Memorial this month will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the USS Missouri’s recommissioning with a special ceremony and exhibit opening.

More than 40 former crew members who served aboard during the ship’s recommissioning era will return Sunday, May 10, to once again board the historic battleship at Pearl Harbor for the milestone anniversary.
“Mighty Mo” was recommissioned in 1986 during the Cold War, serving as a powerful symbol of American strength and resolve. This ceremony honors the sailors who brought her back to life and carried her legacy forward.
The program will feature remarks from distinguished speakers, including representatives of the Battleship Missouri Memorial and several officers and crewmen who served aboard during the ship’s recommissioning era.
