15 lane closures scheduled during week of April 18-24 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 15 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of April 18-24.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 19-24 for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile post 0.8, in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Kapule Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20-24 for installing a seal on the roadway. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

  • CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Ahukini Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 19-24 for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 3.9 and 4.2 in the vicinity of Wailuā Golf Course, from 1 to 6 a.m. April 18 for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 5.1 and 5.5 in the vicinity of Leho Drive, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. April 20-24 for patching potholes and a dip in the roadway.

KEĀLIA TO ANAHOLA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 13 in the vicinity of Cane Haul Road and Kukuihale Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 20-24 for cutting grass.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 23 and 26 in the vicinity of Kolo Road to ʻAnini vista Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 20-24 for cutting grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. April 19-24 for striping.

HANALEI TO WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.3 and 4.1 in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and ʻAnae Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 19-24 for paving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction near mile post 1.9, in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 20-24 for sewer line installation. Right turn pocket heading eastbound and eastbound shoulder after the turn pocket on Kaumualiʻi Highway will be closed.

HIGHWAY 540

NUMILA TO ‘ELE‘ELE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.4 and 3.8 in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 20-24 for firebreak work.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 20-24 for pavement marker and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.6 and 1.3 in the vicinity of Panini Place, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 20-24 for fire break maintenance. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 20-24 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa), from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 19-24 for removal of existing pavement markings and adding temporary markings. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
