A greeting card is a quick, low-cost way to reconnect — and it supports a tradition many people miss.

A short letter or small card can go a long way.

Simple tips to mail with confidence

  • Mail early: Send cards and letters a few days ahead to allow for processing and local delivery.
  • Use the right postage: Make sure envelopes are properly addressed and have enough postage.
  • Find the best option fast: Use the U.S. Postal Service website (usps.com) to check retail hours, find locations and get service information.
  • Track what’s coming to you: Customers can preview incoming mail with Informed Delivery (where available).
  • Skip the line when possible: Many locations offer self-service options. Customers can also buy postage online.

Enhancements made at many post offices and tools available online offer an easy way for customers to send a card or letter that still means a lot when it shows up in a mailbox.

U.S. Postal Service made recent upgrades throughout the country improving the customer experience — including more convenient ways to buy postage, find information and get in and out of the post office quickly.

Many locations also carry greeting cards, so customers can pick one up and mail it at the same stop.

Visit the U.S. Postal Service website for additional information about mailing tips and available services at your post office.
