16 lane closures scheduled during week of April 11-17 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 16 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of April 11-17.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 12-17 for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping.

KAUMAKANI TO WAIMEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 18.9 and 22.3 in the vicinity of Kaumakani Road and Pāʻulaʻula Russian Fort Elizabeth, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 13-17 for guardrail clearing and maintaining the fire break.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

• CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Ahukini Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 12-17 for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 3.8 and 4.1 in the vicinity of Kauaʻi Beach Road and Wailuā Golf Course, from 1 to 6 a.m. April 11 for cutting grass.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 5.3 and 5.4 in the vicinity of Leho Drive, from 1 to 5 a.m. April 14 for patching a dip in the roadway.

WAILUĀ

• FULL CLOSURE in the southbound direction on Wailuā Mauka Bridge, between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā Marina Road and Kuamoʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 13-17 for concrete work on Wailuā Mauka Bridge. Traffic will be routed to the Wailuā Plantation Bridge.

KAPAʻA

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.1 and 8.3 in the vicinity of ʻŌhiʻa Street and Kauwila Street, from 1 to 6 a.m. April 16 for cleaning the curb and sidewalk.

KEĀLIA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 11 in the vicinity of Cane Haul Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 13-17 for cutting grass.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 23 and 27 in the vicinity of Kolo Road to ʻAnini Vista Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 13-17 for cutting grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. April 12-17 for striping.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.3 and 4.1, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Waipā Bridge, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 12-17 for paving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction, near mile post 1.9 in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 13-17 for sewer line installation. Right turn pocket heading eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway will be closed and the shoulder eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway after the turn pocket will be closed.

HIGHWAY 540

NUMILA TO ‘ELE‘ELE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.1 and 3.7 in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 13-17 for firebreak work.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 13-17 for pavement marker and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.6 and 1.3 in the vicinity of Nele Road and Panini Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 13-17 for maintaining the firebreak.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 13-17 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
