A temporary water service shutdown is scheduled this week on a portion of Kīlauea Road in Kīlauea.

Officials report the shutdown is slated for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, on Tuesday, April 7, and will impact an area from near the intersection with Kauapea Road and ending at Kīlauea Lighthouse.
The water service shutdown is necessary to perform water system improvements.
Customers in the affected area are advised to prepare by taking these steps:
- Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be safely restored.
- Notify family, friends, tenants and neighbors about the water service shutdown.
- Ensure faulty water heaters are not empty during the shutdown to avoid damage to the equipment.
