Yet another injured hiker rescued from Kalalau Trail

Personnel with Kaua‘i Fire Department rescued a 63-year-old woman visiting from New York with an apparent wrist injury Friday, April 3, from Kalalau Trail.

Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 responded shortly before 4 p.m. to the incident.

First responders arrived at the Hanakāpī‘ai Beach landing zone and discovered the hiker. Rescuers medically assessed her at the scene and loaded her into the helicopter to be taken to Princeville Airport.

Upon landing at the airport, the hiker was transferred to American Medical Response for assessment. American Medical Response personnel then transferred her to a local hospital.

The scene was cleared shortly before 5:30 p.m.
