Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands Pass and ID Office in Kekaha is experiencing intermittent internet outages because of equipment failure caused by recent severe weather.

Same-day guest passes and new identification cards are unable to be processed as a result.

Applications are still being accepted in-person; however, processing is delayed until internet access can be fully restored.

Temporary procedures

  • IN-PERSON SUBMISSION ONLY: All applications must still be submitted in-person. This allows personnel to assist with initial review and document preparation as well as ensures requests are in the queue for when service is restored.
  • DELAYED CARD ISSUANCE: Background check and Defense Biometric Identification services are experiencing delays because of the internet issues. Therefore, ID cards and passes will not be available the day applied. Applicants can be notified by phone when their card is ready to be mailed or picked up at the Pass and ID Office.
  • GUEST PASS APPLICATION HOURS REMINDER: Applications for Pacific Missile Range Facility’s Recreational Guest Pass Program are accepted from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
  • ADVISE FOR COTTAGE GUESTS, VISITING VETERANS AND RETIREES: People should ensure their documents are submitted well ahead of arrival date to avoid delays.
