Nightly lane closures in both the northbound and southbound directions will continue as scheduled for the Kūhiō Highway (Route 56), from Hardy Street to Kāli Road.

As part of the Kūhiō Highway (Hardy-Oxford) Waterline Project, the Department of Water and its contractor, Alpha Inc., are upgrading aging water main infrastructure to meet current water system standards, including fire flow requirements.
The night work is scheduled to continue tonight (March 17). Lane closures can be expected five nights a week according to the schedule below:
- Sunday 9 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
- Monday 9 p.m. to Tuesday 5 a.m.
- Tuesday 9 p.m. to Wednesday 5 a.m.
- Wednesday 9 p.m. to Thursday 5 a.m.
- Thursday 9 p.m. to Friday 5 a.m.
Noise, vibration, dust, and other occurrences typical of a construction site are expected during this project, as well as occasional water service shutdowns. Residents, pedestrians, and motorists are advised to follow the directions of flaggers and obey posted signs.
According to the Department of Water, the construction will be ongoing until Sept. 15, 2026, weather permitting.
