Zonta Club of Kauaʻi collaborates with Habitat for Humanity project for International Women’s Day

Members of the Zonta Club of Kaua’i gathered on the steps of the Historic County Building on Monday to mark Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, highlighting the role of women in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future.
The 2026 Women’s History Month theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” recognizes women working to rebuild and strengthen environmental, economic and social systems, said Zonta Club of Kaua’i Chair and public relations member Edie Ignacio Neumiller in a press release.
Ignacio Neumiller said the observance was both a celebration and a call to action: “This month reminds us that progress happens because women step forward to lead.”
International Women’s Day will be observed on Sunday, March 8. In connection with the global theme “Give To Gain,” Zonta members are focusing on collaboration and service to accelerate gender equity.
On Saturday, the club plans to partner with Habitat for Humanity on a community service project to support local families.
Ignacio Neumiller said the hands-on effort reflects Zonta’s commitment to strengthening opportunities for women and families on Kaua’i. Zonta’s mission is to “build a better world for women and girls.”
