Community members invited to upcoming Wildfire Protection Plan workshops
Kaua‘i Fire Department invites community members to participate in a series of upcoming Wildfire Protection Plan workshops in early March around the island.
These community meetings are an important opportunity for residents, landowners and stakeholders to help prioritize wildfire safety actions, identify mitigation projects and strengthen coordination between the community and partner agencies.

Public participation is critical as Kaua‘i County works collaboratively to enhance wildfire preparedness, reduce wildfire risk and protect lives, property and natural resources around the Garden Isle.
The workshops provide a framework for communities to actively engage in wildfire planning and prevention.
Input gathered during these workshops will help shape strategies to improve defensible space, emergency access, fuel reduction efforts, public education and interagency coordination.
Workshops are planned as follows:
- 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 4: Waimea Neighborhood Center, Waimea.
- 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 5: Anahola Neighborhood Center, Anahola.
- 1 to 3 p.m. March 10: Online via Zoom.
- 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. March 11: Kōloa Neighborhood Center, Kōloa.
- 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 12: Anaina Hou, Kīlauea.
All community members are encouraged to attend and provide input.
Kauaʻi can build a stronger, more resilient island by working together in the face of increasing wildfire threats.
