The County of Kauaʻi Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting Spring Fun programs for keiki in kindergarten to fifth grade from March 16 to 20.
During the Department of Education’s scheduled spring break, keiki have the opportunity to participate in Sports Camp, Pop Up and Play, or Spring Poolooza.
Sports Camp will be held at the Kalāheo Neighborhood Center, and Pop Up and Play will take place at the Līhuʻe Neighborhood Center. Both programs will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20.
Participants can engage in various activities, including games, crafts, outdoor activities, sports skills development, team-building exercises, skills competitions, and more.
All participants must bring a water bottle, lunch, and athletic shoes.
The programs are offered at no cost, but registration is required. Online registration begins at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 2, and will remain open until all spots are filled. Space is limited to 40 children per site.

Interested youth are required to submit an application, including a one-page essay describing their reasons for wanting to be a Junior Leader. There are three positions available per program site.
As of today, the applications are not available, and there is no deadline. When applications open, they will be found on the Department of Parks and Recreation website and turned in to the Līhuʻe or Hanapēpē Neighborhood Centers, or the main office at 4444 Rice St., Moʻikeha Building, Suite 105, in Līhuʻe.
