Several Road Closures Reported Due to Severe Flash Flooding

Various road closures are reported island-wide due to severe flash flooding. Motorists are advised to avoid roadways unless it’s an emergency. 

The video above, shot by Julie Gardner, shows flooding Kalāheo that occurred at around 10:30 a.m.

The road closures are located at:

· Waikomo Road in Kōloa is flooded.
· Kōloa Road in Old Kōloa Town is flooded.
· One lane of Niumalu Road in Garden Ise Disposal’s vicinity in Līhu‘e is closed due to debris from a minor landslide.
· The intersection of Kōloa Road and Ōma‘o Road is flooded.
· Kūhiō Highway at Kaua’i Beach Drive, southbound lane, is flooded.
· Heavy flooding is occurring on Kūhiō Highway by the Marine Camp Road fronting the Wailua Golf Course.
· Areas of Kōloa and Po’ipū are also experiencing heavy flooding.

·The southbound lane of Halewili Road by Kaua’i Coffee company is heavily flooded.
