Kauaʻi Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant program continues through this year
Good news: Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative announces that the Kauaʻi Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant program will continue through 2026.
The grant operates alongside the utility co-op’s Commercial Retrofit Program, which provides funding for efficiency upgrades of existing items and units — including air conditioning, motors and refrigeration.

It is managed by Kauaʻi Economic Development Board and covers a percentage of labor costs associated with energy efficiency upgrades.
Meanwhile, Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative’s program covers a percentage of material costs for eligible projects.
The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant program is intended for small businesses that might face more upfront financial hurdles when retrofitting.
Eligibility is limited to businesses falling under Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative rate schedules J or G.
Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The grant period closes Dec. 31; installations should be complete before Nov. 1.
