Kaua‘i County Finance Department formed a new partnership with five island credit unions to make paying real property taxes easier and more convenient for residents.

Property owners will be able to set up automatic real property tax payments directly through their participating credit union beginning Feb. 9.

Partner credit unions are:

  • Gather Federal Credit Union.
  • Kaua‘i Federal Credit Union.
  • Garden Island Federal Credit Union.
  • McBryde Federal Credit Union.
  • Kaua‘i ‘Ohana Federal Credit Union.

“This partnership is about meeting residents where they are and making essential services easier to access,” said Kaua‘i County Mayor Derek Kawakami in a county announcement about the new option. “By working with our local credit unions, we are offering a practical tool that supports financial stability and strengthens our community.”

Using this new option reduces the risk of missed deadlines and will help ensure payments are on time.

The partnership reflects the county’s continued commitment to modernizing services and improving customer convenience.

By using the credit unions’ trusted financial platforms, taxpayers will benefit from the following:

  • Automatic payment enrollment, allowing members to authorize recurring real property tax payments without manual processing.
  • Secure transactions processed through the established banking systems at each of the credit unions, providing data protection and peace of mind.
  • A local partnership rooted in the shared mission to support the Kaua‘i community through accessible, reliable and locally focused services.
