Agency on Elderly Affairs invites public to attend Better Choices, Better Health workshops
The public is invited to take part in the upcoming Better Choices, Better Health workshop series offered by Agency on Elderly Affairs.
The free 6-week program begins Feb. 23.

Participants are encouraged to attend all six sessions to gain the greatest benefit from the series.
Better Choices, Better Health — developed by the Self-Management Resource Center — is designed to support kūpuna in building confidence and skills to manage chronic conditions while maintaining active, fulfilling lives. The program also emphasizes the importance of self-care and healthy aging.
Workshop topics include:
- Fall prevention and better breathing techniques.
- Appropriate exercise for strength and endurance.
- Healthy eating.
- Proper use of medications.
- Working more effectively with healthcare providers.
Participants will create weekly action plans, share experiences, and support one another in overcoming challenges as they develop and carry out their self-management strategies.
Visit the Hawai‘i Healthy Aging Partnership website or contact Johnny Yago at 808-241-4898 or via email at jyago@kauai.gov for additional information about the workshop series.
