Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces lane closures this week

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closures through Jan. 23.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be no lane closures on Monday, unless otherwise permitted.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here: https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

PUA LOKE (NIGHT WORK)

Sidewalk closed on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the northbound direction, between mile post 0.4 to 0.5 in the vicinity of Uahi Road, on Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for working on the sewer main.

KIPU TO ‘ŌMAO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.4 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Pune‘e Road, on Wednesday to Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for rumble strip and striping work. Traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

LĪHU‘E (NIGHT WORK)

Center lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in both directions, between mile post 0.1 to 0.3, in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Poinciana Street nightly until Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for waterline replacement. WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Full closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction on Wailua mauka bridge, between mile post 5.7 to 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailua State Park Road and Kuamo‘o Road nightly, on Tuesday to Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete work on the Wailua Mauka Bridge. KAPA‘A

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8.0 to 9.5, in the vicinity of Akia Road, on Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (NIGHT WORK)

Lane shift on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Tuesday to Friday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 1.2 to 2.4, in the vicinity of Ohiki Road and Papio Place, on Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 2.6 to 3.3, in the vicinity of Aku Road and Anae Road, on Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Beach, on Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for soil nail drilling, grouting and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTE 550) —

KŌKE‘E

Full closure of Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550), between mile post 1.1 to 6.7 in the vicinity of Panini Place and Kōke‘e Road daily, on Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement reconstruction and resurfacing. Traffic will be detoured to Kōke‘e Road.

KŌKE‘E

Single lane closure of Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550), between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Tuesday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
