Storms approaching islands trigger flood watch for Kauaʻi, Niʻihau
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Kauaʻi and Niʻihau through Thursday evening.

Bands of showers and thunderstorms associated with a front approaching from the northwest will move over the western end of the state and stall beginning tonight.
According to forecasters, heavy showers and occasional thunderstorms over the next few days, combined with saturated ground from rainfall earlier this week, have resulted in flooding concerns for Kauaʻi County and the island of Oʻahu.
Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainage systems. Roads in several areas may be closed, and urban or low-lying areas may experience property damage due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
