New lūʻau celebrates rich cultural traditions, history, and artistry of Kauaʻi and the Pacific

An immersive cultural experience set along the storied shores of Wailua Bay officially launched at the Hilton Garden Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay last week.

The new lūʻau from Tihati Productions, Ltd., a Polynesian entertainment company based in Hawaiʻi, launched on Friday, Dec. 12, celebrating the rich cultural traditions, history, and artistry of Kauaʻi and the Pacific.

The Wailua Nui Lūʻau invites guests on a journey through ancient Wailua, once a seat of royalty and a renowned center of navigation, hula, and storytelling.

The evening features a vibrant celebration of Hawaiian and Polynesian music and dance, as well as a locally inspired 17-course buffet feast feast by Chef Gabriel Balenzuela, highlighting traditional Hawaiian favorites such as fresh imu puaʻa, huli huli chicken, seared island catch ume, Hanalei poi, haupia, and pineapple upside-down cake with Kaloa Rum.

The food will be paired with a stunning production showcasing the talent and artistry for which Tihati Productions is known.

“We are honored to return to Kauaʻi and bring this new lūʻau to life in a place of such deep cultural significance,” said Afatia Thompson, president of Tihati Productions. “Our goal is to share the spirit of Wailua with visitors and kamaʻāina alike through authentic storytelling, heartfelt performances, and the warm hospitality Hawaiʻi is known for.”

The Wailua Nui Lūʻau will be presented weekly on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at the Hilton Garden Inn Kauaʻi Wailua Bay. Tickets start at $175 for adults and $95 for keiki 12 and under, and kamaʻāina rates are available.
