16 lane closures scheduled during week of Dec. 13-19 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 16 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of Dec. 13-19.

HIGHWAY 50

PUHI

• Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.7 to 2.5 in the vicinity of Puhi Road and Cane Haul Road, on Wednesday, December 17 from 12 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for clearing vegetation around the guardrails.

KIPU

• Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.4 to 4 in the vicinity of Cane Haul Road and Puuana Road, on Friday, December 19 from 12 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for clearing vegetation around the guardrails.

HIGHWAY 51

LIHUE

• Full closure on Kapule Highway (Route 51) in the southbound direction, between mile post 1.9 to 3.4, in the vicinity of Ahukini Road and Kuhio Highway nightly on Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for setting concrete barriers. NAWILIWILI

• Single lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 51) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 0.8 in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Rice Street, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete sidewalk, medians, ramp, and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

HANAMAULU

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.4 to 1.7, in the vicinity of Laukona Street and Cane Haul Road on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

LIHUE

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 3.7 to 5.0, in the vicinity of Kauai Beach Road and Leho Drive on Wednesday, December 17 and Friday, December 19 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass.

WAILUA

• Full closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 5.7 to 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailua State Park and Kuamoo Road, nightly, on Tuesday, December 16 to Friday, December 19 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete work. KAPAA

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8.0 to 9.5, in the vicinity of Akia Road, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• Lane shift on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive for striping on: Monday, December 15 and Tuesday, December 16 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Monday, December 15 and Tuesday, December 16 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail work on Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 2.8 to 3.3, in the vicinity of Cin Tai Wai Road and Anae Road, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

• Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Beach, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for soil nail drilling, grouting and installation of anchored mesh. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 550

KOKEE

• Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.2 to 5.5 in the vicinity of Panini Place, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for pavement reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 580

WAILUA HOMESTEADS

• Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Aina Pono Street, on Saturday, December 13 from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
