Temporary service changes at Hanalei transfer station scheduled this week

Temporary service changes are planned later this week at the Hanalei Refuse Transfer Station because of scheduled equipment maintenance.

Kaua‘i County Solid Waste Division reports that the transfer station serving the North Shore community will accept bagged trash only — no loose mixed waste — Friday (Dec. 12).

The facility will also be completely closed to the public Saturday (Dec. 13).

“We anticipate service to resume regular operations on Sunday, Dec. 14,” said the Solid Waste Division in its announcement about the service changes, adding regular hours are 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. “Mahalo for your patience.”
