Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi schedules multi-day donation event in Kapaʻa

The Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach Resort in Kapaʻa will host a three-day community blood drive on Dec. 9-11, marking the return of one of the island’s most important and consistent donation events. 

The drive, coordinated by Blood Bank of Hawai‘i, will require an appointment to donate. Donors will receive on-site screening and guidance.

The donation times:

• Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Thursday, Dec. 11 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Organizers encourage donors to arrive well prepared. This includes being hydrated, eating a sustainable meal, avoiding skipping a meal on donation day, and increasing iron intake through iron-rich foods.
